I love Savvy Jack's! I've visited Savvy Jack's many times with my friends and each time the food was amazing. I usually get a vegetable crepe, but today I visited with a friend to celebrate my birthday and we decided to try the salmon crepe. Both kinds of crepes are delicious! The crepes are nicely filled; they don't skimp on the ingredients. I agree with the previous reviewer -- the bechamel sauce really makes a difference. I also tried the apple and brie quiche, which was tasty as well. The crepe and quiche both came with a choice of sides - in our case fruit salad and potato salad. The atmosphere is really charming. This isn't a fancy, upscale French restaurant. Instead, the restaurant has a lovely, warm country inn feel to it. The tables are decorated with rustic cloths and the walls are painted in warm colors. It looks very quaint and is a very relaxing place. The wait staff is friendly and service is prompt. The food is well-priced (great for my friends and I, who are poor graduate students!) I really don't have anything bad to say about the restaurant. It's a wonderful little hidden gem. It's a great place to visit with friends, to share good conversation and a delicious meal. But I'd also be very comfortable visiting the restaurant alone. It's a nice, cozy place :) Visit it!

If there was an option of no stars that's what I would give Savvy Jack's Southern. I am not usually one to write bad reviews, but I feel that, as a public service, I need to let people know about how horrible of restaurant this is. The service was horrible: My group of three arrived for midday lunch and waited over 40 minutes for our food. Half way through our wait the waitress completely forgot us about (there were only four other people in the restaurant) and asked if we had received our checks when we still hadn't received our food. The food was worse than the service: Two of us ordered a biscuits and gravy platter which included eggs, meat, and home fries or grits. After waiting 40 minutes nothing was hot. The biscuits were extremely stale (refrigerated biscuits would have been better) and I am not even sure what the gravy was - it looked like reconstituted white goop. The eggs were not properly cooked and my plate was missing the side of home fries. After telling the waitress about the missing home fries she returned with hash browns (as they were out of home fries) that were burnt on the outside and raw in the center. The waitress attempted to remedy the situation by offering free dessert, but if the main course was so disgusting I am sure the dessert wouldn't have been much better. Usually a restaurants food excuses their horrible service, but after waiting 40 minutes for something that should have taken 15, it was just a slap to the face. Residents of Tampa you are better off saving your money and eating at home or going through the drive-thru at McDonald's.

My young daughter and I ate here for breakfast. The food was good and fresh, the server was very nice (she may have been the owner.) They made a Mickey Mouse pancake for my daughter with whipped cream and chocolate chips (she asked first) and my daughter loved it, they even gave her extra so she could add her own touch to the mickey mouse.

This place is in the same location as The Brunchery back I the 1990s. It's a sleepy little restaurant that serves generous portions. The food is unremarkable beside the portion size. The upside is the service was very friendly from the chef/cook. He made my visit remarkable and is the reason I would return.

Oh Oui Oui! The owners run their own little mom and pop, it's just cozy and feels like a european bed and breakfast. We were seated and served quickly. The owner/chef brought it out. He took great pride in his food.

Fantastic little spot for home made food. I ordered the French omelette which featured garlic and potatoes and a side of fruit. It was superb. Though it was simple compared to some deluxe omelettes, the quality of ingredients and attention paid to cooking it just right put it right up at the top. I'll definitely be coming back.

My family & I decided to try this restaurant after reading all of the good reviews. The only bad thing I can say is that Savvy Jack's isn't located in Naples! I love the sweet lady who owns the place with her husband. The atmosphere & presentation of our food was beautiful!! XO

This is a nice, quaint place tucked into the corner of a little shopping complex. The decor is setup nicely. The food was pretty decent, and the quantity was alright as well. While overall it was good, it ledg my group a little wanting. The service also could have been a little better.

Was looking for a breakfast place and stumbled upon this place on yelp. When we arrived it said breakfast was until 11 am so I was a bit upset (it was 12:15) but we walked in anyways. The whole restaurant has a very home-y feel and its warm and comfortable. (A bit too warm for my taste) I asked if I could still have breakfast and they said yes if they had the ingredients so I ordered a coffee with a greek omelette and hash browns and my friend had the V___ hamburger with home fries and a coke. The coffee was decent but the coke they brought my friend was flat. We complained and they brought us a new one which wasn't flat. It took about thirty minutes to get our food but it was worth it. The waitress continuously thanked us for our patience so it was really nice that she was aware of how long it took to get our food. Despite all my complaints the food was delicious. My omelette was fresh of the pan with melted spinach and feta. A+ and the burger was also better than expected, definitely one of the best restaurant burgers I've had. Gave 4 out of 5 stars because the price and quality beats all of my complaints.

I was dissapointed considering the high star rating this restaurant has. We came at 10am on a Saturday. The restaurant was not packed, but there was only one waitress working. The restaurant is small, cute and cozy. However, upon entering, me and my party of 5 were not seated for 15 minutes. Once seated, no one came to our table to even take our drink order for another 15 minutes. Once we ordered the food it took 20 minutes to come. The food was alright, not anything special really. The chef and his wife came out and they were both very sweet to us, and apologized for the long wait which was nice. Overall, average experience, probably will not return.

Visiting the area, looked at yelp but did not find much and had almost resigned ourselves to going to a chain restaurant until we discovered this charming breakfast/lunch spot. It is a small, cozy place with knick knacks on the shelf as you walk in. You will also see the black board with the day's specials as you walk in. The place specializes in omelets and crepes. Many of the omelets are a step up from the usual diner fare such as salmon, Cuban (included all the Cuban sandwich meats & grilled onions), & goat cheese, which was a special that day. . Husband & I had the salmon and 9 year old had the Cuban. All were fantastic! 10 year old had a cheeseburger which was delicious. Besides the breakfast items there are lunch items such as chicken and fish plates. Most items are $8-9. Some of the specials are a bit more. Service was very friendly and pretty fast. A young woman served us, but the owner, a French woman took care of us and chatted with us as well. Definitely a place I would recommend and visit on a future trip to the area.

Great food, just need a little help with service. Maybe they were short a person when we went, they definitely need one more person serving.

The most awesome breakfast place in temple terrace! And the crepes are to die for!! Love this little cozy place!

The decor could use some work, i.e. Vinyl table clothes and mismatched knick knacks but the omelets are light and fluffy. This place reminds me of mom and pop diners in the south. Good food, cheap prices and service that could use an upgrade. Our original younger server needed some work on manners but the older woman who took over was great.

Unfriendliest staff ever!! Walked in and wasn't even greeted. Sat for 10 min and nothing with only 3 tables taken. Will not be back!!

I really can't say enough about how lovely this place is. My fiancée and I were looking for a place we've never been for breakfast and this gem came up on out map right down the street from us. We went and genuinely fell in love with it. Our server was great and it just feels so comfortable and homey in there, when my parents came to visit we took them there with our 4 yr. old and they loved it just as much as we did. My little one had bunny shaped chocolate chip pancakes! And the good is seriously fresh and incredible. I will definitely be back again and again.

Well, if you want breakfast made simple, and just don't feel like cooking, I'd say stop here. I had bacon/eggs/banana pancakes, it was good. The place looks like a grandmother's living room. What disturbed me is the awkward service. The dining room was packed when we arrived with 3 open dirty tables. They were able to clear one off for us. We had our drink order taking by one young lady, whom I was concerned only spoke monosyllabically. Her first conversation was, "drinks?" We gave her our order and she walked away. Nothing else was said, we were so confused on how someone becomes a server with zero people skills. Before bringing drinks she came back and said "ready to order" (ok maybe she can speak in 3 syllables). The savior of our breakfast was an older server who came about 7 minutes later to take our drink order for a second time. She was friendly and very hospitable. She seemed to be very concerned about our experience and really seemed to enjoy her job. If I could rate her individually, she'd get 5 stars. Also notable, my girlfriend was uncomfortable with the way both servers put their hands all over the glasses when bringing them to the table. At the end of the day, I chose 3 stars because the rating for this restaurant is pretty high and doesn't represent what you get when you arrive. I'd hate for someone to make a trip there thinking it's the same as other 4-5 star rated breakfast spots in South Tampa, Ybor or Seminole heights.

What a charming little brunch place this is. This is another place I found the via Yelp that I never would have found on my own. I've driven past this strip mall lots of times and had no idea that tucked in a back corner was such a nice little restaurant. I did my research the night before by looking at their menu. When I got there I was pleasantly surprised to see that there were other choices available such as chocolate chip pancakes and banana pancakes. I had not had banana pancakes in a long time but now I can see myself ordering them regularly because they were delicious! From the western omelette, to the pancakes, to the scrambled eggs we liked everything that we were given. The prices were quite reasonable as well. What's nice is that they have lunch items as well as breakfast items so you can get whatever you are in the mood for anytime of the day they are open. The breakfast choices include items you might not always see on breakfast menus such as crepes and quiches. There's also nine different types of omelets. For lunch you could get a hamburger or something more exotic such as Sheperd's Pie. I want to try more things from their menu but it's going to be hard to say 'no' to those banana pancakes!

We went for breakfast but the two women working there totally ignored us. Four people walk in and they just look for a minute and say nothing. We sat down for 10 minutes before I got up to get menus myself. They continued to clear tables. No greetings no "I will be right with you " just nothing. I started to wonder if we walked into a robbery or something serious. We left after 14 minutes of no service. Very sad.

This place was pretty yummy. I gotta say I wasn't expecting this from such a small place, but the food here really has a home cook feel to it. The service here I pretty nice. We got this nice little French lady with a really strong accent. I don't know if she also cooked some food as well, but she definitely knew what was going on with it. I feel that she could easily fix the food to the customers liking. The sitting area inside is tight. Not much space in there for anything extra, but still we didn't feel tight while we were sitting and eating. The place has a very French feel to it as well. The look, the feel and the taste is all good. All in all we had a great breakfast here and would come again.

This is not the place to come if you're in a hurry. If we could rate the food separate from the service then the food would get five stars. The service would get two. It took quite awhile to order and I never did get my coffee refill until we were ready to leave. The one and waitress is a sweet little elderly lady. I will definitely give this place a second chance.

If you are traveling through the Tampa/Temple Terrace area, as my sister and I were for Yankee spring training, do yourself a favor and break free from the chains and visit this quaint family style eatery. Everything is prepared fresh to order. Savvy Jacks is run by a lovely French couple. It sits back in a little shopping center and is only open for breakfast and lunch. BTW the blueberry pancakes are divine!

Savvy Jacks has hands down the best and lightest omelettes and crepes in Tampa. All of the eggs are organic and free range from Brooksville. The owners are French (Roger is the only chef and his wife is the main server) and, after all, what country is best known for omelettes and crepes? All the reviews boil down to what are your expectations, If you are looking for a trendy, quick, typical, cool breakfast joint this is not the place to be. If you have a larger crowd with many young children this is probably not the place to be. However, if you would like to be in on the local best kept secret, the place where you often see a small church group or a few university faculty chatting about current events this is the place to be. If you want to feel like sitting at the kitchen at grandmothers table this is the place to be. If you want to have time to actually talk to your table companions, relax, and look forward to well cooked food this is your place. Yes, the service can be slow. We have often been waved to take any empty table and had the place settings delivered after we were sitting - just like at grandmas house. Regulars know that with one server, maybe 2 on weekends, your refills on coffee may be slow. You only have to politely remind the server and it will be brought to you shortly. It all boils down to the fact that this charming couple have created a small, quaint cafe serving great food. Savvy Jacks omelette is our gold standard for all other omelettes.

Great food. Great and delicious healthy food options like their salmon entree. Service was a bit on the slow side but very friendly and accommodating. Overall, the best family owned restaurant I've eaten at in a long while. Definitely worth a visit!

Not quite up to expectations considering most of the other reviews, was cozy & charming but from the moment we walked in we didn't feel very welcome, they almost seemed put off by the fact that there were seven of us in our group, would think this would be a welcome sight since it was about 9:00 in the morning & only a handful of customers there, waitress seemed to be in a bad mood, unacomadating , & short, food was just ok, most everything was barely warm & a little on the bland side, ' the sausage gravy was just gravy with sausage chunks on top, biggest issue for me were the biscuits, seems a shame to go threw the trouble to make homade gravy & specialize in omelets & accompany it all w/ a cheap, frozen biscuit, would rather it not be on the menu at all, they have the potential to be really good, but we're far from it this time

It is not at the location described by the gps. It is in the plaza on the opposite side of 56th street to outback. Such a great place for breakfast! Delicious quiche and great hot chocolate.

This place is an absolute gem and hidden in the plaza that it's in. It's owned by the sweetest married couple and the food is amazing. The feel of the place is genuine and gives you nostalgia. Also VERY decently priced and delicious food!

A very cramped, little place. We didn't have a chance to try the food, because the server never took our order. We waited at least ten minutes for drinks that never appeared and then made our exit.

Pay no attention to the name, which makes this place sound like a dollar-draft haven for douchebags. Savvy Jack's is a French bistro with homemade quiche and personal service, run by the owners, who drive down from Spring Hill every morning. I had the "French omelette", which most Americans would call a "potato-garlic frittata with a side salad on top". It was soooo delicious and it filled first the plate and then mah belleh. Gourmandise for ten bucks. Can't beat it. The owners cheerfully give no respect to American condiments, because why should they? You want *ketchup*? Ugh, if you must... here's some Hunt's. You want puckeringly sweet preserves on your toast? Fine... here's some no-name grape jelly. When it comes to respectable condiments, however, the little packets of butter do contain REAL butter and not the oil-whipped ooze served at most rural-themed chains. Butter is worth doing right.

Never been disappointed with the place. I love the atmosphere; Nicole (owner's wife) is very friendly. it does take awhile for your food to arrive to the table but it's worth the wait. I recommend getting the Garlic Pressed Cuban (I get it everytime). It does get busy during lunch so I suggest going there mid-morning or so to avoid the crowd. It's a very quaint, very french little restaurant and the feel is very Lyon(ish) it's amazingly comfy, just like home

I spotted Savvy Jack's quite by accident while visiting USF. I am truly happy that I did. Savvy Jack's is hidden away in a strip mall, in a side building facing the parking lot. It is in a non-descript building but that is the only unremarkable aspect of Savvy Jack's! The restaurant offers breakfast and lunch. Breakfast emphasizes egg dishes and omelets. On a recent visit, I ordered a Greek omelet with home fries and rye toast. I received a huge omelet, perfectly prepared, and excellent home fries. Great flavor and great value. My companion ordered a breakfast sandwich. It was more of a giant breakfast Panini -- full of egg and meat and flavorful goodness. Coffee was just OK, but I could forgive that because it was certainly drinkable. Savvy Jack's is owned by a French couple and they clearly bring an old world feel to their restaurant. They also clearly care about the customer experience that they are creating. Everyone was friendly and responsive. The interior has an "in the family's breakfast nook" quality to it and I was very comfortable there. I am definitely looking forward to my next visit. This is a much more enjoyable breakfast spot than any chain I have visited.

This place seemed like a cute little brunch place. Although, the cons of this place simply outweighed the charm. The service was terrible, it was Sunday and they were decently busy, but there is no excuse for how bad this service was. They brought out the wrong orders for 2 of the 6 people and were unapologetic. They took forever to fix one of the orders and even after two or three reminders, they still never fixed her order. They even implied it was our fault for her messed up order! Then after an hour of waiting, they brought out our food. Which was so so at best. The savvy jack biscuit platter was not good at all. The biscuits were dry. The "sausage gravy" was a frozen sausage patty on top of some bland gravy. The eggs were runny, and the bacon had a weird taste to it. Also, it took forever to get any refills of water or coffee, so don't come to this place if you are thirsty! I am understanding for when places are just genuinely slammed, but the servers were simply unapologetic and acted like we were an annoyance to them. Don't waste your time here.

Went here for a French Meet-up. Although we went on the wrong day of the meet-up, the owner spoke French and said a few words. It was a nice bonus. I went with a group and order a burger which was very juicy; the mayo on it actual had a taste to it compared to the large chain restaurants. The others in the group ordered a crepe and a quiche which were flavorful as well. The crepe was different from La Creperia in Ybor (I think the bechamel sauce was the key for Savvy Jack). Atmosphere was a bit unexpected, but nice. It was decorated like a cottage cabin. The waitresses were friendly and added that American Southern charm. I'd really like to see the place do more, but as it stands, it's A-OK.

Did not love this place. To be fair, when we came in to eat it was incredibly busy (every table filled) and there was only one server. Based on previous reviews I am sure that if you were to dine at Savvy Jack's when it was not as busy that it must be really good. Everything we ordered ranged from pretty blah to only ok. My husband got the biscuits and gravy - pass. I got the cuban sandwich - pass. My mom got the breakfast special with eggs, grits and ham. Her's was probably the best. I didn't even try my brothers veggie omelet, but he mentioned it was only ok. I felt like everything we got was cold and had been sitting around. But, again, this could be because they were very busy and just couldn't get anything out fast enough. I love to support local restaurants and will give this one a try again, especially since all the previous reviewers seem to rave about the food.

The best! We come all the time when we are in town. Love the owners, they are so sweet and accommodating. The chef is really funny and comes out to talk to customers. The food is outstanding and always fresh. This cozy restaurant is such a joy to walk into. Our kids love it. We will be back!

I love breakfast and when trying a new place I love to check out the Eggs Benedict. Also important is the coffee - I like it strong. Neither was outstanding at Savvy Jack's but it wasn't bad and the service was good. I'd go again if in the neighborhood. Was glad they were willing to sub tomato slices for the potatoes.
